Northern Lights Cerakote Limited Edition

Locally finished. Hand prepared. Limited to just 50 pieces.

Northern Lights is unlike any Sherpa we’ve produced before.

For this extremely limited release, we partnered with a local Cerakote specialist to finish each pen individually. Every piece was carefully hand prepared, precision-coated with Cerakote (a thin ceramic-based protective coating), and baked to create an exceptionally hard, durable finish designed to withstand years of everyday use.

But durability is only part of the story.

The Northern Lights finish has a subtle iridescent quality that shifts and moves as it catches the light. From one angle it appears deep and understated; from another, the surface comes alive with changing highlights and dimension. No photograph can fully capture the effect—it is a finish meant to be seen in motion and held in your hand.

Paired with polished gold-tone trim, Northern Lights feels refined, distinctive, and unmistakably special.

Each Northern Lights Sherpa also includes a complimentary black leather pen sleeve—a $13.95 value—to help protect and carry your pen in style (automatically added at checkout).

Only 50 pieces were produced. Once they are gone, this locally finished edition will not be recreated.

Hand prepared. Cerakote finished. Baked for lasting durability. Assembled locally in Colorado.

I just got my Cerakote Northern Lights Sherpa. I never write reviews, but I really wanted to do a review on this cover design.
I really love this new style. It has a look like no other Sherpa. I have been collecting Sherpa marker/pen covers for years, and I have quite a few at this point. I really like the beautiful color contrast this Sherpa has between the mossy green cerakote color, and the shiny gold. This one will be in my top 5 favorite for sure!

I was very excited to receive the pen cover today! I have one Sherpa pen cover I use for daily for my sharpie as a Starbucks barista, and have been extremely satisfied with the product. I’ve been considering getting a new one to take better care of, as my other one has been used, and abused with severe patina occurring.

I got the email that this “northern lights” themed cerakote was dropping a limited supply run, and was stoked. The look of it in the photos were underwhelming, but the description says something to the effect of “the iridescent effect has to be seen in motion in person, is extremely unique and cannot be captured on camera”

Upon receiving it, I am underwhelmed with the iridescent effect, in fact I’d go as far as to say it indeed does look just like the photos! Very much a dull matte grayish blue, I couldn’t imagine how or why they would say the northern lights come to mind when seeing this.

Upon extremely close inspection you can see little specs of glitter like substance, almost like a metallic painted car, but not as sparkled, for lack of better word.

Upon inspecting it this closely, I noticed small bubbles and lines in the cerakote itself, more noticeable than the “northern lights” effect… I also noticed a slight scuff on the gold tip of the cap! I didn’t expect at all to receive it with patina.

Ive owned cerakoted things in the past, and this seems to be a slight cut below…

Sherpa earned my trust with my first purchase, and has seriously strained it with this release.

It’s a great sleeve, but I feel the description of the iridescence is highly exaggerated, and during its journey to me it got scuffed. I’ll be using it at work anyway, so I don’t expect it to be pristine forever, but I certainly did expect it to be close to pristine upon receiving
